Quality street advert:
This is an advert from the 1950's advertising the popular confectioner Quality Street, it uses various technical codes, visual codes and stereotypes to sell the box of sweets to the audience. The attire of the man in the middle of the couch suggests he is wealthy and successful, this gives the audience the thought that if they buy quality street sweets they will be like the gentleman. The alliteration of 'delicious dilemma' and 'delightfully different' means the advert will stay with the audience as these are memorable phrases. The sweets are also abnormally sized to show how bountiful a box of quality streets is. The name 'Quality Street' also suggests that if you buy the sweets you are buying quality and your way on to the 'street' of wealth and success, like the gentleman on the couch.
